Miami-Dade County wins Global BRM Community Excellence Award

Miami-Dade County’s IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) Program received the 2021 BRM Team Award for its positive impact on business outcomes aligned with the technology and innovation priorities within Miami-Dade County. The globally recognized program was created to promote collaboration across the County organization to better serve residents, visitors and businesses alike.

 
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Mariaelena Salazar, Assistant Director of the IT Department. “The BRM philosophy has allowed us to break down barriers between our departments and collaborate on solutions that save residents time and money creating a more effective government.” 
 
Over the last six years, the BRM Team has helped County departments to streamline business processes, drive value, and deliver innovative solutions that are transforming the government experience.  Since its inception, the program has received national recognition from the Center for Digital Government, Public Technology Institute and the National Association of Counties.
 “Our BRM program has been pivotal in the growth and efficiency of the County’s business operations,” said Chief Information Officer and IT Director Margaret Brisbane. “Moreover, it has been transformative, changing how we work together across departments enabling the IT Department to implement some truly exceptional solutions that improve the lives of County residents.”  
 
The BRM Institute is a nonprofit corporation established to help organizations grow the BRM capability to drive business strategy, strengthen collaboration, and champion a culture of creativity and innovation. The BRM community recognizes individual and organizational accomplishments that align to global BRM philosophy and strategy every year through the Global BRM Community Excellence Awards.
