Miami-Dade Transit seeks full-time bus operators

Miami-Dade County’s Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is seeking applicants for the position of full-time bus operator. Applications are being accepted at miamidade.gov/jobs through December 31.

As DTPW works to implement the new Better Bus Network, we are stepping up our recruitment efforts as we prepare to increase service levels and create a more efficient, reliable system for our riders. We need operators like YOU to join us! 

Bus operator trainees will earn $15.49 per hour, and after successfully completing the training program will earn $16.32 per hour to start, plus built-in overtime and an additional 1.5% allowance added to the Bus Operators’ base pay, and the option of earning double-time for working County-observed holidays.

In order to be selected, applicants must successfully pass a background screening and physical examination and must have the following:

  • A high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED).
  • A form of photo identification, such as a Florida driver’s license.
  • Proof of having passed the General Knowledge, Air-Brake and Passenger Transport test sections of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam (current and valid CDL permit).
