COVID-19 take home rapid test kits available at eight Miami-Dade Public Library System locations on Friday, December 31 beginning at 7:30 a.m., while supplies last

Test kits will help close the COVID-19 testing gap from the recent surge in testing demand

MIAMI ( December 30, 2021 )

As we continue to work to meet the surge in demand for COVID-19 testing and keep our community safe through the holidays, Miami-Dade County is again offering free take-home rapid test kits at select Miami-Dade Public Library System locations. Residents can pick up test kits at eight library locations on Friday, December 31 beginning at 7:30 a.m., while supplies last. There is a limit of up to two tests per household.

“Our team is working around the clock to meet the enormous increase in demand and keep residents safe by making tests as accessible as possible, including by distributing hundreds of thousands of take-home rapid test kits and opening new testing sites this week,” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “We’re grateful to all those across Miami-Dade taking the simple precautions that we know work to keep us safe.”

Miami-Dade County has already completed distribution of approximately 152,000 take home rapid test kits through a collaboration between Miami-Dade Public Library System, Miami-Dade Police Department, and the Miami-Dade Emergency Operations Center.

This week the County opened three additional testing sites and expanded Zoo Miami hours to 24/7 as part of our continued effort to meet the increased demand for COVID testing. Find more information about all 30+ free County-run testing sites available across Miami-Dade: miamidade.gov/covid.
