Miami-Dade Mayor joins Solar United Neighbors and others to launch kickoff of the Miami-Dade Solar Co-op to provide Miami-Dade residents with affordable rooftop solar
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will launch the Miami-Dade Solar Co-op 2022 in partnership with the nonprofit group Solar United Neighbors and with funding from the Green Corridor District and Leon Lowenstein Foundation on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at the home of solar co-op member Esver Camacho located at 2935 SW 16th Street, Miami, FL 33145.
The Miami-Dade Solar Co-op 2022 aims to assist residents and small businesses owners in learning about solar energy and purchasing rooftop panels. The launch event, hosted at the Camacho Household, a solar co-op member, will feature remarks by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and co-op partners about the benefits of rooftop solar energy for Miami-Dade County and how the co-op works.
Those who sign up for the co-op will leverage their numbers to solicit bulk pricing through an open bidding process facilitated by Solar United Neighbors. Co-op members will sign their own individualized contracts with the selected solar installer. Joining the co-op does not represent an obligation to purchase solar panels.
The co-op is open to all homeowners and small businesses owners in Miami-Dade County. Visit solarunitedneighbors.org/miami-dade for more information.
Interviews with community leaders and solar homeowners will be available after the launch event.
