Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) expands number of scholarships to college bound students who reside in Miami-Dade County
Students from low-income households are encouraged to apply for College Scholarships through June 3, 2022
The Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) through its Office of Neighborhood Safety (ONS) is offering fifty (50) $1,500 college scholarships. These scholarships are available to eligible students residing in Miami-Dade County. Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2022 school year. "I'm committed to providing our future leaders with support they need to thrive, and the CAC/ONS Scholarships are an important tool to do just that," said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. "When we open doors for more young people to pursue higher education, these investments pay dividends for our entire community for years to come."
CAHSD through its Family and Community Services Division has been awarding Scholarships for the past 31 years to assist low-income college students achieve their educational goals. “This partnership with ONS allows for more than 65 scholarships to be issued this year to support young adults in pursing their educational goals,” said CAHSD Director Sonia Grice. To qualify, candidates must be between the ages of 16-25, enrolled in or attending college this fall, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA. Other requirements include financial circumstances. Students can submit applications at any Miami-Dade Community Resource Center, via “Drop Box” at the entrance, by mail, or email: [email protected].
