Metromover Brickell Loop closing early for station enhancements

Early closure is needed for improvements to the Eighth Street Metromover station

(Miami, February 25, 2015) – The Metromover Brickell Loop will be closing early, at 11 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays, effective from this Sunday, March 1, 2015 to Thursday, May 21, 2015, in order to complete enhancements to the Eighth Street Metromover station.

During the early closure of the Brickell Loop, the public is encouraged to plan accordingly as service will not be available on this portion of the Metromover system.
Miami-Dade Transit will provide regular service on the Brickell Loop during special events, such as the Ultra Music Festival and late Miami Heat games. Miami-Dade Transit will notify the public in advance of when regular service will be provided.

The early closures will only affect the Brickell Loop. The Omni and Inner loops will continue to provide regular service until midnight.

Miami-Dade Transit apologizes for any inconvenience; however, these closures are necessary to complete enhancements to the Eighth Street Station. The enhancements to the station include upgrades to improve access to the station with a new elevator, new escalators, new stairs (on the north end of the station), a new third-level access from adjacent development, security improvements and other ancillary upgrades, such as landscaping and hardscaping.
