Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department receives 2015 PTI Solutions Award

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) has been awarded the 2015 Public Technology Institute (PTI) Award in the category Geospatial Information Systems for the development of the iWASD Project Viewer. The iWASD Project Viewer helps users locate water and sewer infrastructure projects and obtain project related information throughout Miami-Dade County. Users also have the ability to decide which projects to display, measure distances, gather information on length of construction, and generate a map outlining specific areas.

“It is essential that residential and business customers have a resource to identify when and where construction is being done and what upgrades are in progress to minimize impact,” said WASD Director Lester Sola. “We’re honored to be recognized for developing a viable Geospatial Information System.”
