Zoning Hearings

Community Councils consist of elected members who help make local zoning and land use decisions. Members also serve as advisory liaisons to the Board of County Commissioners and County staff.

Hearings are held in front of Community Councils whenever a property owner or lessee desires to change the use of land. Hearings are required for all new proposals or applications disapproved by County staff.

Certain decisions made by the Community Zoning Appeals Board can then be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners.

Certain zoning applications are required to follow a pre-application process in order to streamline and simplify the required steps.
