RU-1M(a) - Modified Single-Family Residential Zoning District
The RU-1M(a) Modified Single-Family Residential zoning district allows single-family residences and associated customary uses, including pools, sheds, private garages, carports, etc.

Lot Area, Lot Coverage and Setback Requirements
Minimum Lot Area: 5,000 square feet
Maximum Lot Coverage: 45%
- Principal Building Setbacks
Front: Minimum 15 feet for 50% of the lineal footage of the width of the house and 25 feet for the balance (except 20 feet for attached garages)
Rear: Minimum 15 feet for 50% of the lineal footage of the width of the house and 25 feet for the balance
Interior Side: Minimum 5 feet
Side Street: Minimum 10 feet - Utility Shed and Pergola Setbacks up to 100 square feet
Front: Minimum 55 feet

Fences, Walls and Hedges
Maximum height 6 feet, except 2 1/2 feet within sight visibility triangles at intersections and driveways.
Boat Storage or Parking
Boat storage is permitted within the sides and rear yard of the principal structure. A boat may be parked temporarily for two hours within the front yard. Boat parking is not permitted in the public right-of-way. Refer to Section 33-20(e) of the Miami-Dade County Code for specific requirements.
Recreational Vehicle (RV) Parking
Parking of one recreational vehicle is permitted within the sides and rear yard of the principal structure. Refer to Section 33-20(f) of the Miami-Dade County Code for specific requirements.
Commercial Vehicle Parking
Up to two commercial vehicles may be parked on a lot. The number of commercial vehicles allowed varies based on the type and size of the vehicle. Refer to Section 33-124.1 of the Miami-Dade County Code for specific requirements.
