International Trade Consortium

The International Trade Consortium (ITC) advises on issues affecting the Miami-Dade County's international trade agenda, assists staff in establishing yearly measurable objectives, establishes program priorities, and recommends the agency's budget for consideration by the Mayor and County Commission.

The Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners appoint citizen volunteers from the public and private sectors to the ITC and the key economic development agencies in the community also appoint representatives to the ITC Board.

The Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium (ITC)’s committees include business representatives and local leaders in support of the ITC’s mission of promoting Miami-Dade County as a global gateway. The committees meet regularly to set goals to attract business and provide strategic support for the ITC’s ongoing efforts to uphold Miami-Dade County as the ideal destination for business. The committees also collaborate with the Consular Corps, Bi-National Chambers, and other partners to build bridges between Diplomats and the community.

The Executive Committee
In order to maintain operational continuity, the ITC Board has an Executive Committee that acts on behalf of the ITC board when the full board cannot meet. The Executive Committee is responsible for implementing ITC policies, and certifying incoming and outgoing trade missions. The Executive Committee is composed by the following members:

The Missions Committee
This committee is tasked with identifying and recommending countries for trade promotion activities, including countries for any future inbound or outbound business development missions. The committee also ensures coordination with other local economic development agencies to build stronger ties with Miami-Dade County’s leading trade partners. The committee members provide value added support for incoming missions and meeting with high-level government officials and business leaders focused on stimulating economic growth in Miami-Dade County.

The Sister Cities, Consular Corps and Protocol Committee
Miami-Dade County’s Sister Cities program is a diplomatic platform tasked with promoting cooperation and direct engagement with cities around the world on issues of mutual interest such as economic development, tourism, education, technology, climate change and culture. Southeast Florida is the proud home to dozens of diplomatic missions. This committee promotes a closer working relationship between Miami-Dade County and the Consular Corps and function as its liaison. In addition, the committee evaluates and recommends new sister cities affiliations and emeritus status for those that are inactive. It also works with relevant community agencies in recommending programs that enhance international cultural understanding.
