Mayor Levine Cava has worked hard to tackle the housing crisis and ensure safe, stable housing for Miami-Dade's nearly 3 million residents.

- Doubled the amount of money invested in affordable housing projects from $128 million in early 2021 to $260 million in 2023.
- Completed more than 40 new developments with direct County funding totaling more than 5,000 units with 8,000 more units in the pipeline. Of the new units coming online, most are designated for very low- and low-income households, whose area median incomes (AMIs) fall between 30% and 80%.
- Secured back-to-back Choice Neighborhood Implementation federal grants to revitalize neighborhoods and add more affordable housing in Overtown, Goulds, and around the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Metrorail Station.
- Opened 5,000 new spots on the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 waitlist and 7,500 spots on public housing waitlist.
- Opened the Office of Housing Advocacy, which has served nearly 16,000 residents, providing critical information, access to financial support to pay for housing, or legal support to avoid eviction, helping families keep a roof over their heads
- Ran one of the most successful emergency rental assistance programs in the nation, distributing more than $180M to help approximately 26,000 families stay in their homes
- Launched targeted programs offering assistance with mortgage and utility payments, condominium special assessments, and eviction diversion.
- Acquired and converted three properties to create housing for people experiencing homelessness, with a commitment to add 1,000 new units in 2025
- Secured two new competitive US HUD awards: $21 million to combat unsheltered homelessness and $8.4 million to prevent and end youth and young adult homelessness.
