- Miami-Dade County has committed $74,000,000 for the Liberty City Rising revitalization initiative, which will be used to leverage over $390,000,000 of economic activity and private sector investment.
- The catalyst of the Liberty City Rising revitalization initiative is the redevelopment of the Liberty Square Public Housing Project. Liberty Square is the oldest public housing project in the southeastern United States built in 1937 under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
- Miami-Dade County has allocated $46,000,000 of funding for the redevelopment of Liberty Square and Lincoln Gardens, which will generate over $307,000,000 in economic activity and private sector investment.
- Miami-Dade County has allocated an additional $28,000,000 to revitalize the Liberty City neighborhood within the City of Miami. These funds will be utilized to create additional economic activity through the construction of new multifamily housing, affordable and workforce housing, affordable homeownership opportunities, economic development and capital improvements, etc.
- The Liberty City Rising revitalization initiative will create an estimated 2,290 jobs.
- Miami-Dade County established the Employ Miami-Dade program to train and assist in the hiring of residents from the Liberty City Rising zip codes 33142 and 33147, to address the high unemployment rate in this neighborhood.

- Liberty Square Phase Two is a mixed-income development that consists of 73 public housing units and 131 affordable units.
- The affordable units are set-aside for residents with annual incomes of between 60% [$38,400 for a single person] and 80% [$51,200 for a single person]) of Area Median Income (AMI).
- The project is composed of 6, three-story apartment buildings with a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, for a total of 204 units.
- These units will add to the 204 units already brought on-line by the adjacent Liberty Square Phase One opened in 2019. Ultimately, the overall Liberty Square Rising development will consist of 1,455 new units.
- Phase Two features new units with amenities such as spacious interiors with open floorplans, wood cabinetry and granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, pet friendly, children's playground and more.
