Retirees
The retiree enrollment period is your annual opportunity to make permitted changes to your health insurance coverage through the Miami-Dade County Retiree Group Insurance Program for the 2025 calendar year. The enrollment period will be from Oct. 21 through Nov. 11.
The County will continue to offer three self-insured HMO plans, one POS plan and four Medicare eligible plans, including the two new Medicare Advantage plan options, managed by AvMed. Additionally, the County provides retirees optional dental, vision and basic life insurance benefits.
The County will host three in-person regional meetings. These benefits fairs will give you the opportunity to speak with the plan administrators, ask questions, receive printed materials and enjoy branded swag.
Hosted by RetireeFirstRetireeFirst will have representation at the below Miami-Dade County Benefit Enrollment events, in addition to hosting a virtual Retiree presentation detailing the plan changes and answering any questions you may have. Eligible retirees, spouses and dependents are invited to attend the below events:

Miami-Dade County provides retirement benefits for eligible employees through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Enrollment is automatic for full-time and part-time employees.
