Commitment to service motivates digital communicator

They say that if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life. Doing what you love, however, can be challenging, and that’s why Arturo Rojas is so passionate about the service and support he provides to County Departments.

“Providing County residents with clear, accurate and accessible information feels important,” Rojas said. “There’s a sense of service there that I find very rewarding.”

“There’s so much variety in my day-to-day work,” he said. “Whether I’m developing new web pages and content or writing creative copy, I’m using my skills and creativity to communicate as clearly as possible to our different audiences. And I enjoy doing it.”

Arturo Rojas has been an Enterprise Content Specialist with the Community Communications and Customer Experience Department (CCED) since 2018. He’s responsible for managing websites for a variety of County departments. Every day, Rojas monitors and engages with residents inquiring about government services through the County’s social media accounts, as well as developing newsletters and e-mails that keep the community informed about different services and programs offered by the County.

“Arturo has played a pivotal role in supporting DTPW with the design and deployment of the Shift305 pages, the redesign of DTPW’s homepage, and the design and deployment of the Better Bus Network’s pages, with a turnaround time that has impressed his clients—so much so that DTPW took the time to reach out and recognize his efforts,” shared Jorge L. Gomez, chief of digital communications at CCED.

“While working with DTPW this past year to complete several projects and meet critical deadlines has kept me very busy, it’s been a real pleasure to work with their team in such a collaborative way. It’s nice to know that they value my efforts,” Rojas added.

Rojas said that Esprit de Corps drew him to join the County. “As a member of the County family, I feel my contributions are respected and that my work contributes in some way to the success of our residents.”

“I’ve had the opportunity to work on so many different projects, such as building new sites for the Inspector General, the Office of Resilience, Extreme Heat, Key Biscayne, and so much more. We have such a diverse portfolio of departments impacting our community. Of course, I love what I do and the folks I work with here,” Rojas added.

A Miami native, Rojas also expresses his creativity off the job. A self-proclaimed nerd, he loves comic books, photography, painting, hitting the gym and kayaking. After several years of living in New York, he couldn’t be happier to be back in Miami, close to his family and not far from the beach.

“Aside from the sunshine and warm weather,” he added, “I really missed the Cuban culture…and food!”
