Not all heroes wear capes

Lazaro Sosa

When the District 3 office contacted Internal Services Department (ISD) for assistance with a much-needed renovation, Lazaro Sosa demonstrated his expertise and commitment to excellence.

Tasked by the district team to give their office space a facelift, Lazaro Sosa brought big results and proved an old adage true: not all heroes wear capes.

"Lazaro was incredibly thoughtful and helpful," said Santiana Lewis, a District 3 commissioner's aide. What had been drab transformed into fab as Lazaro installed updated office furniture and judiciously arranged each piece to create a revived workspace that's functional and aesthetically pleasing.

What sets Sosa apart is his unwavering dedication to achieving excellence. He met the initial project goals and went above and beyond by making customized adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and ergonomics for the team. "He always comes up with new ideas to improve our office space," Lewis shared.

But it was more than outstanding results that left such an impression on the District 3 team. Beyond praising Sosa's work ethic and attention to detail, district staff also took pains to highlight his sweet and innovative spirit. "He always has a smile on his face and is willing to help. He truly is the best in the business," concluded Lewis on behalf of the District 3 team.

Nadine Cayemitte, Sosa's manager, described Sosa as the team's "right-and-left hand who takes great pride in his work." She further noted that upper management and visitors often praise his immaculate work at the Joseph Caleb Center.

"Lazaro makes our department tremendously proud," commented Director Alex Muñoz. "Our motto is 'success through collaboration.' More than living up to this standard, Lazaro's proactive and teamwork-focused approach is a model of ISD's commitment to interdepartmental partnership and innovation."

A public servant indeed, this November will mark Sosa's seventh anniversary as a County employee. Sosa is also a husband, a father of two children and a Miamian of 13 years.
