Customer service at its best
Yesenia Gonzalez greets customers at the Tax Collector's Office with a smile and a winning attitude. As a tax records specialist, she helps residents pay property taxes, renew auto tags, title requests and more.
After a recent visit to the Tax Collector's Office, Mr. J. F. VerPlanck shared, "I wanted to tell you about my very favorable interaction with your employee Yesenia. I had come to her window last week for the purpose of renewing my motor vehicle registration that had lapsed. I was met with a wide smile, and she was both congenial and professional during the course of business. The transaction went smoothly and after just a short time, I left with the feeling that the necessary transaction had been accomplished with competency and a minimum of delay. She is to be commended for her most congenial manner."
Gonzalez joined the County this past July. She attended a Career Fair sponsored by Human Resources and learned about the job opportunity. She is passionate about helping others and serving her community.
"Her pleasant nature and eagerness to learn make her an invaluable employee at the Office of the Tax Collector," shared Section Manager Roxanna Mila.
"I truly enjoy helping people," Gonzalez said. "Our residents walk up to the service counter, and it's my job to know how to answer their questions and help them complete whatever transaction is necessary. I take pride in providing them with assistance and peace of mind."
"Everyone at the Tax Collector works together and helps each other," Gonzalez added. "Teamwork like this means our customers have the resources of all the team members to resolve their concerns and provide the best service. I've learned quickly because everyone is interested in sharing what they know."
"I'm looking forward to growing my career with Miami-Dade County and serving our residents to the best of my abilities," she concluded.
When not at work, Gonzalez enjoys visiting museums and attends Renaissance Fairs, sometimes in period costume. She also has two dogs, Spot and Orly. She was happy to add that Orly was adopted from the Animal Services Department.
