WASD crew goes the extra mile

The employees at WASD understand what great customer service means. They understand that for businesses to be able to sustainably exist for the long haul, they must endeavor to add value to the lives of its customers, listen to customers insights, understand their needs and even think ahead of them to be able to provide unique and relevant solutions. That is exactly what Projects Inspector 1, Miguel Ozuna, and his team did.

After County resident Susana Cortazar, who spoke with Executive Assistant Damarys Isler, reported damaged water pipes at her home, WASD immediately went out there to replace them. Turns out that a construction company broke the water lines while installing fiber optic cable down the resident’s block. “Water and waste started backing into the toilets and bathtubs at my house. We called an emergency plumbing service. The minute the plumber saw the markings from WASD, AT&T and FPL on the street and sidewalk, he advised the construction company had more than likely broken the water lines,” said Susana.

WASD came to the rescue! Miguel and his team brought the necessary equipment to commence the tedious work ahead of them. The resident’s front yard had been remodeled not too long ago and even a new mailbox and grass were laid out. Her main concern was that it would get damaged. However, that was no obstacle for the WASD team! They were able to execute the job. “The guys were wonderful. They covered the mailbox, worked around it, which made their work more difficult, I’m sure and didn’t have to remove it,” said the homeowner. “They also removed the new grass, put it aside, and when they were done several hours later, they put it back in place and it looked as if nothing had happened. They worked until well past dark.” WASD always goes the extra mile and goes above and beyond its expectations.

The WASD team would also like to recognize the following employees for their amazing work and exemplary service:
  • Anzio L. Hudson, Pipefitter Supervisor
  • Richard Pinillos, Pipefitter Supervisor
  • Reiner Kern, Sewer Lateral Repairman
  • Luis A. Ramirez, Heavy Equipment Operator

  • Diego J. Gonzalez, Water Distribution Supervisor
