Shelter pets to enjoy special Pawventure with the cast of MAGIC MIKE LIVE: The Tour
Some lucky Animal Services dogs will be showered with love and attention by cast members from MAGIC MIKE LIVE as they relax at Santorini by Georgios and go sightseeing on Miami Beach
Miami-Dade County Animal Services will partner with the cast of MAGIC MIKE LIVE: The Tour as part of its Pawventures volunteer program on December 9, from noon to 4 p.m. starting at Santorini by Georgios, located at 101 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139. The Pawventure will start with the cast members participating in a “speed dating” style Q&A where they will be asked a list of questions to identify what pet best matches their personalities and plans for the afternoon. They will then take their pet matches on a scenic tour of South Beach.
“We are thrilled to partner with the cast of MAGIC MIKE LIVE to give our shelter pets a day out of the shelter environment for a day of fun in the sun and help them find their new families,” said Bronwyn Stanford, Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services. “Pawventures are an amazing opportunity for the community to spend time with our adorable dogs and expose them to social experiences in our community, while taking photos and networking the pets to prospective adopters.”
Pawventures is a program run by Animal Services that offers a short-term volunteer experience where members of the community are able to take a pet out for a day, weekend or week. Research shows that even a short daytrip can help shelter pets by increasing serotonin levels, reducing stress and helping staff get to know how the pets behave outside the shelter environment. Pawventure participants are encouraged to take video and photos of the pet and create social media content to help promote the pets on social media platforms.
“We couldn’t think of a better city to host the first stop of MAGIC MIKE LIVE’s North American tour than the Magic City,” said Vincent Marini, Executive Producer of MAGIC MIKE LIVE. “While we’re in Miami, and throughout the tour, we’ll be collaborating with local charities and organizations that are centered on making a positive impact as a way to say thank you to the communities that are kind enough to welcome our show. Our guys couldn’t be more excited to be spending the day hanging out with these pups, and hopefully, we can help find them forever homes in the process.”
Interested residents can go to the Pet Adoption and Protection Center 7-days a week starting at 10 a.m. and select a pet to take out on the town. Pets must be returned on the designated day by 5 p.m. to ensure they are settled in by dinner time. Participants must present a valid Florida ID to take a pet. Miami-Dade County Animal Services is currently over capacity with over 600 pets and encourages residents to adopt, foster, volunteer or donate to help support the community’s shelter pets.
The Las Vegas stage spectacular turned global sensation, MAGIC MIKE LIVE launched its first-ever North American tour in Miami in October. The limited engagement production performs in a custom-built venue at the site of the former Marine Stadium near Key Biscayne through April 2023. Conceived and directed by Channing Tatum, MAGIC MIKE LIVE is an unforgettably fun night of sizzling, 360-degree entertainment inspired by the hit movies. Equal parts empowering and exhilarating, the 90-minute show features some of the world’s sexiest and most talented men and women performing daring dance routines, thrilling acrobatics, live music, comedy and more.
