Free workshops available for nonprofit organizations and artists interested in cultural funding
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs presents virtual workshops for the Community Grants and Tourist Development Council quarterly grant programs.
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is hosting free workshops for artists, cultural and community nonprofit organizations on how to apply for grant funding through the Community Grants and Tourist Development Council grants programs. Department staff will review program guidelines and provide detailed information about the competitive funding opportunities, services offered, and best practices as well as share helpful resources available for the cultural community. Questions will be addressed in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. ADA/accessible accommodations are available. The workshop schedule and registration details can be found at www.miamidadearts.org.
The cultural grant workshops are offered virtually on a quarterly basis to those interested in applying for funding for the first time. Participants must register in advance to receive Zoom meeting credentials.
The Community Grants program supports cultural programs, projects and events, such as fairs, parades and neighborhood festivals. The program funds arts projects with strong community involvement and/or outreach component and is particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural neighborhood activities and projects encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture, as well as social service organizations and cultural groups developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts.
