Miami-Dade County launches Workforce.Miami platform to transform local job market
On October 24, 2024, Miami-Dade County, in partnership with key local organizations, will officially launch Workforce.Miami, a comprehensive workforce development platform designed to connect Miami's residents with high-quality job opportunities, upskilling programs, and essential support services. The event will take place at The IDEA Center at Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, located at 315 NE 2nd Ave., 5th Floor, Miami, FL 33132, starting at 11:00 AM.
The Workforce.Miami platform is a core component of the County’s FutureReady Economic Development Plan, aimed at empowering job seekers and employers through a friction-free, local job hub. This user-friendly platform will provide job seekers with direct access to local employment opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, and training programs. Additionally, it offers wraparound services to support those navigating the job market, with a particular focus on Miami’s ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population.
“Workforce.Miami represents a vital step in Miami-Dade’s economic development plan, offering targeted solutions to our residents while addressing local employers’ needs. This platform is designed to empower jobseekers, enhance workforce skills, and support employers in building a qualified talent pool for Miami’s growing economy—all while promoting better pay and ensuring a living wage for our community’s hardworking residents.”
Key partners, including South Florida Anchor Alliance, PortMiami, and others, will join the event to highlight collaborative efforts and future opportunities for job seekers. A live walkthrough showcasing the platform’s features and benefits.
