On Friday, December 6, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade County District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon will break ground on Courtside II, the second and final phase of a new affordable development which started in 2016.
Courtside II Apartments will consist of 120 residences across two seven-story buildings, offering a range of units from one to three-bedroom apartments. These residences will include Energy Star appliances, vinyl plan-style flooring, and modern finishings. Apartments will be available to income-qualifying residents earning 50%, 60%, and 70% of the area median income (AMI).
Amenities will include a fitness center, dog park, bike storage area, and clubhouse. Additional on-site programs will be available to residents such as literacy, financial, and employment assistance programs.
Construction on Courtside II is expected to finish early 2026. Courtside is made possible through a partnership between NBA Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning and the Housing Trust Group. Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) provided $2,500,000 from Surtax funding and 30 Project Based Vouchers.
