ITC hosts a Peruvian delegation from the University of the Pacific
The Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium (ITC) had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from the University of the Pacific (Universidad de Pacífico) in Lima, Peru. This group of students and professors had the opportunity to explore the dynamic business environment of Miami-Dade County through an in-depth briefing provided by key representatives from PortMiami, Miami International Airport (MIA), and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. The event was coordinated in close collaboration with PromPeru, marking a significant step in fostering closer ties between Miami-Dade County and Peru.
During the event, the delegation gained insight on Miami-Dade's strategic advantages as a global trade hub, with a focus on its logistics and transportation infrastructure, including the critical roles played by PortMiami and MIA in facilitating international trade. Key speakers from PortMiami and MIA provided valuable information about the region's capacity to handle a vast array of imports and exports, emphasizing the seamless connectivity between Miami and global markets. Representatives from the Beacon Council highlighted Miami’s growing position as an innovation and business center, particularly in sectors such as technology, finance, and international commerce.
The event emphasized the importance of Miami-Dade County’s infrastructure and business environment as a gateway for Latin American and international markets. The delegation’s visit provided valuable context for strengthening bilateral trade relations between Peru and Miami-Dade, particularly in sectors such as logistics, finance, technology, and trade. Additionally, ITC looks forward to continuing to work together with PromPeru and promote Miami-Dade as a premier destination for international business and to strengthening the trade ties between Miami-Dade County and Peru.
ITC extends special thanks to ITC Board Member Richard de Villiers for his ongoing support and to Ilona Vega of the Beacon Council for her participation in the briefing. Their contributions were integral to the success of the event. Additionally, ITC would like to acknowledge the collaborative efforts of PromPeru for facilitating the visit and making it a valuable experience for the attendees.
