ITC welcomes 23 exporters from Costa Rica to Miami-Dade County
The Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium (ITC), in collaboration with Promotora del Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER) and the Consulate General of Costa Rica in Miami, successfully organized a comprehensive trade visit for a delegation of 23 Costa Rican exporters. The delegation, which included experts in the production and export of chayote, pineapple, and pumpkin, visited Miami-Dade County to explore opportunities for enhancing trade relations and expanding their access to key markets.
The delegation’s visit included informative meetings with representatives from PortMiami and Miami International Airport (MIA), two of the region’s most important logistics hubs. The delegation had the chance to tour both facilities, where they gained valuable insights into Miami-Dade County’s advanced logistics infrastructure, customs procedures, and international trade operations. These discussions provided Costa Rican exporters with a deeper understanding of the efficiencies and capabilities of Miami as a gateway to U.S. and global markets.
The delegation’s focus on agricultural exports—particularly chayote, pineapple, and pumpkin—underscores the growing importance of the agricultural sector in bilateral trade. With Miami’s strategic location and world-class transportation infrastructure, the city plays a key role in facilitating the export of agricultural products to markets across the U.S. and beyond.
ITC also recognized the importance of the event’s success, extending a special thank you to ITC Board Member Jimmy Nares for his time and valuable support in helping coordinate this productive visit. His contributions were instrumental in ensuring the event was both informative and impactful.
This visit is part of ITC’s broader efforts to strengthen international trade relations and support the economic development of Miami-Dade County by fostering closer ties with key trade partners in Latin America and beyond.
