ITC partners with Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization to brief an inbound delegation from WITS University
The Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium (ITC) teamed up with with the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) to host a briefing session for an inbound delegation from the University of the Witwatersrand Business School (WITS).
Aileen Bouclé, Executive Director, TPO, provided the WITS delegation with insights into how Miami-Dade County is proactively building a robust transportation network designed to support the region’s growth and ensure long-term resilience.
Miami-Dade County’s future-ready transportation developments were also a key focus. From sustainable infrastructure to workforce development for upcoming projects, Miami-Dade is building a resilient, forward-looking transportation network that will support business growth and global connections for years to come.
Gerard Philippeaux, Executive Director, ITC, highlighted ITC’s commitment to promoting bilateral trade and enhancing economic ties between Miami-Dade County and South Africa. By fostering strong trade relationships, ITC aims to open doors for South African businesses to enter the U.S. market and for Miami-based companies to explore opportunities in South Africa.
ITC extends a special thanks to the TPO Team for their partnership and hospitality, as well as ITC Board Member Ms. Lynare Robbins for her continued support. ITC also extend a thanks to WITS University Business School delegation for a valuable exchange of ideas and a shared vision for international collaboration and growth. ITC looks forward to continuing to work together with Dr. Renee Horne and Dr. Jacques Totowa, Ph.D to advance this collaboration.
In addition, ITC collaborated with the Florida International University College of Business to set up a meeting and campus tour for the visiting delegation. The meeting was highly productive, with both institutions exploring potential areas of collaboration in business education, research, and student & faculty exchanges. We look forward to seeing these discussions blossom into impactful partnerships that bridge educational and cultural ties between Miami-Dade County and South Africa. ITC extends a thank you to Anthony Rionda for the introduction and Jillian Avendano for their time and effort to set up the visit.
