Miami-Dade Parks to break ground on major improvements at Lago Mar Park
The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department is proud to announce the groundbreaking of a significant project at Lago Mar Park located at 8165 SW 162nd Ave, Miami on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. This $1.3M- project will bring a series of new amenities and upgrades to the park, enhancing its functionality and accessibility for residents and visitors.
The upgrades include the construction of a new parking lot with Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, the expansion of the fitness zone with upgraded equipment, and upgrades to ADA accessibility. In addition, the project will enhance the right-of-way areas and make significant upgrades to the park’s drainage system, all aimed at improving park safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
These upgrades are designed to better serve the surrounding community, including those in low-income and health disparity areas, while ensuring that Lago Mar Park remains a clean, safe and inviting space for all visitors. This project supports Miami-Dade's Parks commitment to providing high-quality parks for all to enjoy.
The groundbreaking ceremony will feature remarks from District 11 Commissioner Roberto J. Gonzalez, who will highlight the positive impacts of these improvements on the local community.
