PortMiami celebrates the launch of CMA CGM California Bridge Service
On March 8, 2025, PortMiami celebrated the launch of the CMA CGM California Bridge Service. The new, once-a-week, first-in service connects European ports to PortMiami, Latin America and U.S. West Coast, including Southampton, England; La Havre, France; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Hamburg, Germany; Antwerp, Belgium; Cartagena, Colombia; Rodman, Panama; and Los Angeles and Oakland, California.
“With the launch of this service, PortMiami reaffirms its position as a premier global trade hub, further strengthening its commitment to facilitating commerce, driving economic growth, and ensuring supply chain resilience,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
As a first-in service, the CMA CGM California Bridge Service will enable businesses to benefit from lower carrying costs, competitive backhaul rates, and seamless distribution via extensive rail and truck networks, reaching 70 percent of the U.S. population within one to four days. This service is particularly valuable for time-sensitive cargo, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, ensuring faster delivery and enhanced supply chain efficiency.
Additionally, the service will streamline the import of luxury automobiles, premium beverages and other fine spirits, garments, machinery, and aircraft parts. The arrival of high-quality European perishables and specialty goods will also support key industries, providing them with cost-efficient and timely access to sought-after products.
“PortMiami continues to lead the way in advancing the cargo industry,” said PortMiami Director and CEO Hydi Webb. “Our customers expect first-class service. We thank CMA CMG for their support and providing efficient and market-leading transit times from North Europe to Miami.”
