Miami-Dade County to celebrate the grand opening of the first phase of Quail Roost Station
On Thursday, April 24, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee will join representatives from the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) to celebrate the grand opening of the first phase of Quail Roost Station, a 200-unit transit-oriented affordable community development in South Miami-Dade.
The first phase of Quail Roost Station is part of a comprehensive six-phase redevelopment initiative aimed at revitalizing the local community. Phase two broke ground in August 2024 with expected completion by end of 2025. The phased approach underscores a long-term commitment to community enhancement and sustainable development.
Located on approximately 2.3 acres on SW 184th Street, just west of U.S. 1, Quail Roost Station is directly connected via a covered walkway to the brand-new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station on SW 184th Street, one of the new 14 BRT stations along the South Dade TransitWay where the first-ever BRT service in the County’s history is scheduled to start operating this summer.
The affordable housing community has 200 units for families, comprised of 33 studios, 132 one-bedrooms, 23 two-bedrooms, 8 three-bedrooms, 3 four-bedrooms, and 1 five-bedroom. The property features a community room, business center, fitness center, and on-site laundry facilities. All affordable housing units are set at 22% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Rental prices range from $737 - $2,065.
Event participants and media will have the opportunity to participate in a tour of Quail Roost Station immediately after the ribbon cutting.
