Arrest Made in Hammocks Death Investigation

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Homicide Bureau has arrested an individual in connection with the murder of an adult female.

According to investigators, an MDSO deputy was flagged down by a woman advising that her three-year-old granddaughter was found wandering around in the parking lot of her residential complex by a neighbor who recognized her and escorted her to her grandmother's residence.  The child had what appeared to be dried blood on her face and on her clothing. 

Additional deputies responded to the child’s residence attempting to locate the mother (victim), however she was not at home. Deputies conducted an area search and discovered the victim unresponsive suffering from apparent stab wounds inside of her vehicle. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined she was deceased on scene.

Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the subject as 29-year-old Joy Chandra Nath.  He was located, arrested, and charged accordingly.
