• What is TransitConnections?

  TransitConnections is new customer service, engagement and outreach program designed with the community in mind to increase public awareness about the County’s vast public transit services including free and reduced fare programs, financial hardship assistance, Special Transportation Service (STS), first-and-last options, and other services and programs. 
  
  TransitConnections also aims to garner interest from the private sector, local universities, and non-profits to collaborate with DTPW on innovative mobility solutions.

• How can I request an in-person transit services presentation for my group?

  DTPW’s customer service team will be glad to schedule an in-person presentation for community groups of 10 people or more.  During the presentation, our team will go over important information and answer questions regarding our TransitConnections community engagement program. The team can also help your group with questions and the application process for Transit passes including Golden Passport, Patriot Pass, and others.   
  
  Please note that the department will accommodate community engagement requests on a first-come, first-served basis. If your group is interested in coordinating a group presentation, complete the following request form, and a customer service team member will contact you within a few business days to schedule the presentation.

• Are there any first-and-last mile transportation options for transit riders?

  Yes, with MetroConnect, an on-demand shared-ride service, Miami-Dade Transit riders have FREE shared rides on small vehicles to Miami-Dade Transit stations or nearby destinations, closing first-and-last mile gaps, within a designated service area. This service aims to bridge transit accessibility by providing a seamless, efficient, and comfortable journey for commuters.

• What is the Uber Voucher Program?

  The Uber Voucher Program provides transportation vouchers to riders in areas affected by specific bus route adjustments. This short-term mobility solution was developed through an interim partnership with Uber to provide transportation vouchers for residents in certain areas where specific bus routes have been altered.

   

  This service is available for certain routes and only during each route’s service hours. Each voucher covers up to $15 of the ride. Limited to 4 daily rides per use.

   

  The coverage zone for the Uber extended service is within 500 feet of each bus route alignment. Wheelchair-accessible service is available. Riders can call 786-469-5555 during the bus route’s service hours to request a voucher.

• Are there any alternative public transit options?

  Yes, MetroLink is a new mobility option for residents along corridors with limited transit service. This new service, operating with smaller vehicles, provides residents with important connections to other transit modes and key destinations such as the Airport, Tri-Rail, Miami Beach, Alton Road, and to our high-frequency routes.

• How can I report a lost item on a Miami-Dade Transit vehicle or facility?

  The quickest and most convenient way to report items lost in Metrorail, Metromover or Metrobus is by submitting an online request. You will receive confirmation with a case number once you submit the form.

   

  Please note that the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is not responsible for items left on vehicles, or reimbursement for lost items. Before leaving the bus, train, or mover, always check your packages and personal belongings.

• How can I receive Special Transportation Services (STS)?

  The Special Transportation Service (STS) is a shared-ride public transportation service offering door-to-door service from the main entrance of pick-up to the main entrance of drop-off locations. 

   

  The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be used throughout most of Miami-Dade County.

   

  Cost: $3.50 per trip

• How can I report a safety or security concern?

  When riding Miami-Dade Transit, keep an eye out for any situation that may put you or someone else in danger. It just takes one reckless action to ruin your day.

   

  While safety precautions are put in place and enforced by Miami-Dade Transit, it’s imperative for all passengers to abide by the rules as we all work together to keep each other safe and secure. With this in mind, we ask that all transit riders become familiar with our safety regulations and guidelines.

   

  Remember – In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1. Report a crime, misconduct, or suspicious activity to any Transit security personnel onsite, on the GO Miami-Dade Transit app, by calling 305-375-2700, or dialing 3-1-1.

• What is the Guaranteed Ride Home Program?

  Transit riders can get up to six free taxi rides a year by registering with the Guaranteed Ride Home Program (GRH). This service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

   

  Valid only during a personal emergency or if one is required to work unscheduled overtime.

• How do I qualify for a Golden Passport?

  Permanent Miami-Dade County residents 65 years of age and older and Social Security beneficiaries can ride Miami-Dade Transit free with a Golden Passport EASY Card.

• How do I submit a complaint about an issue related to Miami-Dade Transit?

  Riders can submit a complaint or concern related to Miami-Dade Transit services, including STS, or a transit employee through a convenient online form. Please provide as many details about the incident as possible when submitting the form. 

• How can I submit feedback about Metrobus service?

  Metrobus riders can submit feedback about Metrobus service using this online survey. 

• Where can I find additional customer service information?

  For fares and passes information, Miami-Dade Transit riders can submit questions or concerns online to the EASY Card Contact Center or call the EASY Card Customer Service team, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except County-observed holidays, at 786-469-5151 or via email at [email protected].
