Grants Training and Workshops
The Grants Coordination Division conducts training and workshops for County departments, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Faith-Based Organizations.
Grant Writing and Technical Assistance Workshops for Community and Faith-Based OrganizationsGrants Coordination staff convenes Grant Writing and Technical Assistance Workshops for Community-Based Organizations and Faith-Based Organizations annually. Workshops are usually customized for the interest and needs of each audience. Grants staff may target new and emerging CBOs and FBOs with a focus on building capacity and applying for grants. A more comprehensive session for established CBOs and FBOs includes a focus on grant writing and grant management.

Grants Coordination staff provides grant writing and technical assistance workshops for County departments; workshops on County procedures for grant applications and related Board of County Commissioners’ memorandums and resolutions; guidelines for partnering with community-based organizations; and information on establishing non-profit entities in support of County departments.
Community-Based and Faith-Based OrganizationsGrants Coordination staff has provided grant writing and technical assistance workshops for Community and Faith-Based Organizations; customized workshops for new, emerging and established organizations; workshops, trainings and information sessions in support of the Miami NICE Initiative, for capacity building to community and faith-based organizations; nonprofit business formation workshops for Resident Councils of Miami-Dade’s Housing Agency; a grant workshop in collaboration with the Florida Department of Children and Families; grant workshops in collaboration with Florida International University; grant workshops in collaboration with Miami-Dade County's Department of Cultural Affairs; and grant workshops for the Diaspora Arts Coalition of South Florida.
