The Government Center area of Downtown Miami is a major intermodal center, providing connections between Metrorail, Metro Mover, and local/express bus routes. In the future, new rapid transit corridors will connect to the Metrorail and Metro Mover systems in the downtown area. These corridors will include Bay Link service from Downtown Miami to Miami Beach, Northeast Corridor rapid transit service from Downtown Miami to the Aventura Mall area, and the East-west Corridor connecting Miami International Airport to the Port of Miami. The East-west Corridor is a priority rapid transit project. Bay Link and Northeast Corridor are longer-term projects currently in the feasibility and planning stages of development.
