Assistant County Attorney
Sabrina Levin is an experienced litigator, currently working in the Environmental, Code Enforcement and Foreclosures Section. She works closely with the County's Department of Regulatory & Economic Resources, including its Division of Environmental Resources Management, Neighborhood Compliance Division, Building Division, Development Services Division, and its Consumer Protection Division, as well as the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, the Solid Waste Department, and the Finance Department's Division of Credit and Collections in matters regarding compliance with the Code of Miami-Dade County. In furtherance of these efforts, Sabrina represents the County in lawsuits seeking prohibitory and mandatory injunctive relief from the courts, monetary penalties, and reimbursement of the County's costs and attorney's fees.
Sabrina also provides general legal counsel to the County's Animal Services Department on a variety of legal matters, including general litigation, public records, code enforcement and shelter operations. She also brings suit on behalf of the Department against individuals for animal cruelty and neglect, and represents the Department in cases involving dangerous dogs.
For almost 10 years prior to joining the Environmental, Code Enforcement and Foreclosures Section, Sabrina represented, at both the trial and appellate levels, the Public Health Trust in personal injury and medical malpractice actions as well as Miami-Dade County in cases involving personal injury, automobile negligence, premises liability, negligent security, false arrest, excessive force, malicious prosecution, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, wrongful death and property damage. She has also previously defended Miami-Dade County in public records litigation.
Prior to joining the office, Sabrina practiced insurance defense for 7 years in the private sector. During that time, Sabrina litigated cases in a variety of practice areas, including personal injury, automobile negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, professional liability and negligent security.
