Assistant County Attorney
Angela Benjamin joined the Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office in 2018. Angela is a member of the Aviation Division of the County Attorney's Office, and previously served in the Office's Commercial section.
Angela is an experienced litigator and transactional attorney. As a litigator, Angela has represented the County in complex construction disputes and other civil matters, including the dispute resolution process entered over claims associated with construction of the new Miami-Dade County Civil and Probate Courthouse, the opioid litigation, and litigation challenging penalties imposed by Florida Statutes on local governments and elected officials for attempts to regulate firearms at the local level, among others. As a transactional attorney, she has handled various development and construction contracts, including assisting with the procurement of goods and services for the County. She has advised County departments on a variety of legal matters, including the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, the Internal Services Department, the Department of Solid Waste, among others.
Before joining the Office, Angela was an Assistant County Attorney in Broward County, from 2014 to 2018, where she led the Commercial and Construction practice group. From 2005 to 2014, Angela was an associate at White & Case, LLP, Miami, where she handled complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, and general commercial disputes.
