Nicole Ramos-Barreau practices in the office's Tort Liability and Medical Malpractice section.
Prior to joining the County Attorney's Office, Nicole defended insurance companies and Fortune 500 corporations in premises liability and wrongful death litigation.
Nicole earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, where she attended as a H.O.P.E. Public Interest Scholarship Recipient. During law school, Nicole was the recipient of the Florida Bar Foundation Fellowship, William H. Holland Scholarship and the C.A.L.I. Book Award in the Children and Youth Law Clinic. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Race and Social Justice Law Review and was selected as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Patrick A. White, United States Magistrate Judge, Southern District of Florida.
Following her matriculation from law school, Nicole gained invaluable litigation experience as an Assistant Public Defender for the Palm Beach Public Defender's Office. While there, Nicole represented the indigent accused in jury and non-jury trials in misdemeanor and felony divisions. She continued her passion for public service with the Office of the Attorney General/Children's Legal Services Bureau, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases involving the abuse, abandonment, neglect of children.
Nicole has first-chaired more than 50 jury and non-jury trials.
