Attorney Profile

Jose Ortega joined the Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office in 2022 and works in the Commercial, Procurement & Construction Section and the Real Estate, Facilities, Recreation & Culture Section. He currently serves as counsel to the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, working on a variety of transactional, litigation, legislative, and real estate matters.

Additionally, Jose works with the Board of County Commissioners and staff, the Mayor's Office, and other County departments to provide legal advice and to prepare and review ordinances and resolutions to carry out the Board's policy directives. He has also assisted with the County's lobbying effort before the Florida Legislature.
