Ela M. Hernandez is a member of the Tort Liability & Medical Malpractice Section. Prior to joining the County Attorney's Office, Ela represented individuals, corporations and entities in general litigation including premises and professional liability, construction accidents and defects, first party property damage and fraud, coverage issues, products liability and subrogation matters amongst others. Ela has earned a preeminent AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Outside the office, Ela is an active member of the Miami-Dade community. She has served on the board of directors of various organizations and has held regional and national positions with the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) including National Young Lawyers Division President/Chair and National Secretary. She has been appointed to serve on The Florida Bar's Civil Rules Committee and is a past fellow of The Florida Bar's prestigious William Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy as well as past chair of Grievance Committee "N".
