Ashley Gantt, Esq.

Ashley V. Gantt, Esq. was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Ms. Gantt was a 2007 Teach for America Mississippi Delta Corps (TFA) member and taught in Miami-Dade County Public Schools as a middle and high school teacher.

In 2016, Ms. Gantt graduated from NSU Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Gantt served as the Secretary and President of the NSU chapter of the Black Law Students Association. She competed in the National Black Law Students Association Southern Region Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition and the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition. Ms. Gantt was inducted into The Order of the Barristers.

Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar, Ms. Gantt became a Broward County Assistant Public Defender in 2016 where she advocated for the citizens of Broward County for two years. Ms. Gantt received recognition for her trial skills by earning a “Hat Trick” Award from the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys for two consecutive years for attaining not guilty verdicts in at least three successive trials. Ms. Gantt is currently an Associate Attorney in the Class Action and Mass Litigation practice group at Shutts & Bowen LLP in Miami, Florida.

Ms. Gantt continues to be active in her community by serving on the executive board of the T.J. Reddick Bar Association as corresponding secretary, recording secretary, and as the President-Elect for the 2019-2020 year. Additionally, Ms. Gantt is a Board member for the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association and a Fellow of the Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Leadership Academy for Class VII. Ms. Gantt is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the University of Florida Association of Black Alumni South Florida chapter.

Ms. Gantt represents District 2 on the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust.
