Harry Hoffman

Harry Hoffman is a seasoned business and academic leader with more than 34 years of experience across various industries, including finance, education, and government. He has held significant roles at institutions such as Citicorp, the University of Miami, and Miami-Dade College, where he served as the Homestead Campus President and has been instrumental in developing numerous academic programs and community initiatives.

Hoffman began his professional journey at Citicorp, where he worked as a computer programmer and accountant before transitioning to the University of Miami as a Systems Accountant. His expertise in both the financial and technological sectors provided a strong foundation for his consulting work with diverse organizations, including the County’s Attorney’s Office and Firestone Rubber Company.

In addition to his industry experience, Hoffman has been deeply involved in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Computer Science at Florida International University. Hoffman also held an extensive tenure at Miami Dade College, where he has held various leadership positions, including Campus President at the Homestead Campus and Dean of Academic Affairs at the North Campus. In these roles, he has been responsible for hiring and training faculty, recruiting students, managing budgets, and fostering relationships with community-based organizations. His leadership was also pivotal in the development and approval of innovative programs, such as the BAS program in Film, Video, and Digital Production, and he played a key role in securing SACS certification for Miami Dade College's West Campus.

His educational background is equally impressive, with a BBA in Accounting with honors from the University of Miami, an MBA in Accounting from NYU Graduate School of Business, and a PhD in Computer Information Systems from the University of Devonshire, London. Hoffman has continually pursued further education, enriching his knowledge in computer science and vocational education.

Throughout his career, Hoffman has demonstrated a strong commitment to educational development, contributing to the creation of numerous programs, certificates, and degrees that have significantly enhanced student opportunities.

Hoffman represents Miami-Dade County District 11 on the Transportation Trust.
